The most expensive part of the whole setup. But also the part that makes the whole thing work. So far the research has shown that there is a lot of panels to choose from! What will help to narrow down the possibilities are spec-ing out my requirements and available sunlight, wind, and other generating possibilties.
By keeping track of my Electric Metered usage over the past year, I use approximately 4-8 Kwh per day, but at least 3 and no more than 10. So, to make me feel comfortable, I'm going to want storage for 25-30 Kwhs. I know, with wind power I should be OK, but I still want the cushion. I bought an exercise bike at a yard sale to hook a generator to, but at my age and in my shape, I'd prefer to have it than to have to use it!
I should also say that I'm not particularly for or against any energy sources, I'm after what is the best for me, in the application I need. Since Solar will cushion me from rising fossil fuel prices, I'm looking into it.
